Yeah! For the rest of the month of October, your only homework in this class will be the following project. So, do not lose this sheet and do not forget to do this! Your assignment is to choose two of the following projects, one from each category, and present both an artistic model and report on your chosen project. The project choices are (choose either A or B, and C or D): A. What Will the Next Super-Continent Look Like? • Use information on continental drift and spreading ocean floor, including which oceans and seas are growing, and which are shrinking. • Talk about the evolution from Pangea to Godwanaland and Laurasia, to the continents modern day positions. • Create an artistic model showing the new super –continent and how it came to be. Name the new landmasses that will form. B. The Creation of the Moon • Explain the 4 current theories of the creation of the moon. Focus on the EVIDENCE for each theory. • One theory has more EVIDENCE than the others, and i

Choose ONE of the following questions and TYPE your response. Feel free to impress me with a wonderful drawing, or something similar IN ADDITION to the TYPED response. 1 "Scientists are currently tracking asteroids (small rocky masses that orbit the sun) and comets because they may collide with Earth. What effects might the impact of an asteroid or comet have on the Earth? Which branches of Earth Science do you imagine might be involved in the work on asteroids and comets?" 2 "There is currently a vigorous scientific debate about whether human activity is causing global warming. Research some of the hypotheses about global warming and analyze them in terms of the scientific method."

This stuff is supposed to be review, but you probably haven't seen it much, if at all... so do the reading! And really try ALL the problems, even the ones with words! READ pg 905 - 906 Examples 2 and 3... pay attention to the part on "domain." READ pg 968-969 This is probably new to you. READ pg 971-974 This is review on solving inequalities. HW problems: Pg 975-977 # 11-16, 17-31 odd, 53, 57, 61, 65, 69, 73, 111-113 PLEASE try 111-113. Stop and think about them, talk to eachother, talk to yourself, just try them.

hello

This is my first attempt at blogging - it seems like a useful tool, and I will do my best to keep current assignments posted to this, as well as links to interesting math and science info. A note - I use a darkbackground because some research may suggest that is better for your eyes. It certainly feels that way to me.
